Monitoring and Evaluation Junior Officer

Job Description and Requirements

The Sport for Development” in Jordan is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation Junior Officer - on a Part Time base employment, as per the attached job profile.

1) Required qualifications, competencies and experience
Formal Education and knowledge:

  • BA in Economics or other relevant fields

2) Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience
  • Experience in the sport sector
  • Profound knowledge of the sport for development sector
  • Basic understanding of project management/coordination or similar experience
  • Experience in data collection, using different sources of monitoring data, evaluation of data
  • Knowledge of research methodologies
  • Experience in preparation and implementation of workshops, seminars, events or similar
  • Work experience in GIZ is an asset
  • Other knowledge, additional competences:
  • Excellent English and Arabic language knowledge, writing and communicating
  • Eye for details and capability of monitoring lists, and documentation of processes
  • Great organizational and management skills
  • Experience and ability to cope with dynamic situation of cooperation system in development field
  • Experience and ability to deal with unexpected challenges
  • Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and
  • computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • Knowledge of SPSS, E-view or similar is an asset

3) Responsibilities:
The position holder is responsible for the following:

  • Operating the results-based monitoring system of the project in close coordination with the technicalstaff responsible
  • Reporting
  • Knowledge Management, Internal Communication & External Communication
  • Producing quarterly monitoring reports in close coordination with the responsible technical staff
  • Supporting technical staff in collecting monitoring data (through research, focus groups, etc.)
  • Checking the quality of monitoring data of other team members
  • Organizing consultant missions in the fields of monitoring and evaluation
  • Preparing and implementing and following up on monitoring workshops and meetings with the team and partners
  • Collecting and prepare the project updates with input from technical team for annual progress report and any other ad-hoc information requests
  • Coordinating proactively with other GIZ projects on monitoring, data collection, reporting and other related areas
  • Ensuring that all relevant documents are filed in the DMS (Data Management System) of GIZ
  • Following up with all team members on filing of documents
  • Supporting team members in usage of DMS
  • Engaging actively in new and upcoming knowledge management instruments and supports where necessary
  • Supporting the organization and design of team meetings and other instruments of internal communication
  • Supporting where necessary the external communications of the project
  • Representing the interests and always acts on behalf of GIZ
  • Conducting other relevant tasks upon the request of direct superior
  • Checking regularly the changes in GIZ Orientation and Regulations Tool (O+R) in relation to field of work
